Forgiveness and Honoring Your Ouch Pouch

Fall, my favorite season, is officially here!

It’s the colors that get me - the burnt orange, the bright golden yellow, and the crimson leaves on the trees and on the ground.

It’s the crisp, clean air that hits you when you step out for a walk and the crackle and crunch you hear of leaves beneath your feet. And then there’s the flannel pjs and curling up on the couch with your cat, while cradling a mug of pumpkin spice goodness.

I’m grateful for Fall coming when I need her.

I’ve been working through my “next becoming!” which translated means:

I’ve been working through some #@*^%!!!! 😹

I absolutely believe that challenges are an opportunity to grow.

But I can forget that sometimes and get SWEPT UP IN IT.

I find that challenges can trigger past trauma.

And often it’s having had a particular trauma in your past that makes the current situation a challenge to begin with.

With that, Bear (my cat) and I went downstairs to grab a Trauma-Heal tincture.

I knew I needed energetic support and it was so helpful for me in taking the edge off the intensity of emotions that would come up…without suppressing them.

Without going into denial.

Here's one of my favorite things about flower essences:

you still feel and process all of it but in a way that feels protected, guided, without fear of getting lost or losing control.

Flower essences help bring the body back into balance so that we can realize our healing instead of getting stuck in dysregulation.

Flower essences help keep the door to magic open!

After 3 weeks on Trauma Heal, magic happened: “Forgiveness.”

"Forgiveness" was the word I saw in mind, upon opening my eyes this morning.

And you guessed it, Bear and I went downstairs to grab a Forgiveness tincture.

The trauma that was triggered for me was so interwoven with old grief but at the center of it was forgiveness - forgiving myself and others.

You can read more about my take on forgiveness here: Forgiveness: A Process, A Practice, A Healthy Way of Life.

I realized what I needed was to forgive and let go.

LET GO! let go.   l e t.    g o.

We all hurt each other. The spectrum of hurt is vast and wide.

Like a kangaroo, I have a pouch, but mine is an “Ouch Pouch” where I tend to store emotional pain. It contains a history of hurts - both pain I’ve absorbed and pain I’ve caused others.

Some of you, right now, are feeling the pain.

Amidst my pain, I try to look for beauty, not as an escape, but as a reminder that where there’s pain, there’s also beauty.

Both are a part of living life and without one, we wouldn’t be able to truly recognize the other.

Today beauty is:

  • Hearing Bear’s light snoring while he’s cuddled up in his Christmas fleece blanket (Yes, I’m that early Christmas-person)
  • Sipping organic dark roast coffee with coconut milk and a dash of cinnamon
  • Feeling the coolness of my golden healer quartz crystal in my palm, given to me by a beloved friend

And then there’s Fall, with her trees and her leaves, with the pumpkins and the apples…

If you’re feeling the pain today, raise your hand in the comments below 🙋🏻‍♀️ and Know that we’ll be sending some Love & Above energy your way. If you’re seeing the beauty today, tell me in the comments below and Know that your sharing is sending Love & Above energy to all in our Community!

I just want to say that I truly love you and the many gifts that you bring to our world are precious. The past week was a hard one for me, just lots of little trials adding up to make the days hard to get through. I’m not always good at remembering to grab my flower essences so this post comes at a needed time. Sending you and all others in this community lots of love

I really relate to this post. When grief is intense, I can feel stuck in those thoughts and feelings, and feel helpless because you can’t change the past.
Today the beauty I’m seeing that’s helping me be present is Raven, my 5-week old jet black foster kitten, sitting on the arm of the couch, watching me quizzically as I play my electronic drum kit, and reacting to the guitar solo in the song by rolling around and being playful. His brother Onyx is now laying on my chest, purring, reminding me that the more we can let go of our grief, the more room we have to give and receive love. I’m so grateful to you for the way you remind us of the importance of self-care. It’s easy to lose sight of that, when we’re busy doing our best to help others.
Another thing of beauty is humor/comedy, where sometimes the moments of greatest difficulty can be transformed with laughter.

Hi Stephanie KAT! Thanks so much for reading and for sharing with us. I wish our blog comments allowed pictures because I need to see this Raven and Onyx! (Great names, btw) I love knowing that you play music too. I find music to be one of the most healing things on the planet! Sending lots of love your way!

I hope everything starts getting better for you. I also have an “ouch pouch”, a very full one at the moment too. So, I can totally relate to your post today.

Thanks, Janine! I appreciate you. Things are much better since I wrote that blog. It just takes time for allowing it all to move through…accepting, receiving, releasing. Sending you LOVE!
