Valentine's Day: a shameless fan letter for the day of love
Today is Valentine’s Day and while many of us may have a lot of feelings around this day, I love it!
And I’m not ashamed to admit that.
It could be the red foil heart garland, the shiny heart-shaped boxes of chocolate, or just the fact that everywhere you look beginning in February, you’re blasted with hearts!

But it might also be my childhood memories of Valentine’s Day, when we bought the boxed set of tiny Valentine’s Day cards, making sure we had enough for the whole class.
I remember walking home with a pile of cards.
And it wasn't just me.
Everyone did.
I love that!
A day to remind each other that:
You’re seen, You’re loved, You matter.
So however you feel about Valentine’s Day, please know that...

This July,I will be a 80..and Valentine’s Day will be melancholy, remembering the years, my wonderful man and I spent as a couple..Les passed away May 27th, 2022..Our first date was Valentines Day, 25 yrs ago..I wore a borrowed red dress, and I felt more beautiful than ever before or since..He was so handsome..We danced the night away, and he always carried a picture of me, in his wallet, from that night..

I also love Valentine’s Day and I celebrate it every year. I think the colors, hues and hearts everywhere are cheerful. My childhood memories of Valentine’s Day include my Dad who would made a special trip to a Candy store to buy chocolate Valentine’s hearts with our names written in white icing. Thanks for sharing.
